A native of Georgia, Bryant grew up in a musical family and decided to pursue a career in music after finishing high school. He was thrown off his path by the sudden death of his mother on New Years Day 2010, a tragedy that pushed him deeper into his craft. In 2014, he released an eponymous debut EP, which he followed the next year with Through the Windshield. In 2016, he released an unplugged EP and a new collection of originals called Up in Smoke. A second unplugged EP appeared in 2017, followed by a string of singles, which included the hits More Than One Year and Whiskey Down the Drain. Two years later, Bryant released his first full-length effort, Practice What I Preach. The twangy, 12-track set, which featured Pour Whiskey on My Grave, More Than One Year, and Best Part of Me, dealt with themes of redemption, addiction, faith, and tragedy. A deluxe, 17-song version of Practice What I Preach appeared in 2021.
