Collaboration is the heart of creative work, and it can be the key to opening up new musical and lyrical avenues. Call and Response was born of two artists who respect and admire each other deciding to connect. Matt Pond heard Alexa Rose mention his band in her song Wild Peppermint and reached out with thanks and an invitation to work on some music together. Their sweet and clear-eyed collection was the result. The two toured the East Coast in early 2024, intertwining their set lists and premiering their new songs, including Halloween 2 and Side Eye Rolls. And the collaboration has continued, with new offerings The Stars Sleep in the Sea and Dynamite out this summer and a string of West Coast shows set for September.
