Dr. John C. Munshower was a dedicated physician, mentor, colleague and friend to many at Main Line Health and Riddle Hospital. A caring and accomplished leader, John exemplified the values of compassionate healthcare and commitment to advancing the field of family medicine.

John began his medical career at Crozer-Keystone Health System, where he served patients for over 20 years. In 2017, he joined Main Line Health as Chief of Family Medicine at Riddle Hospital, quickly becoming an esteemed leader recognized by peers and patients alike. During his tenure from 2017 to 2021, he served as the Clinical Operations Leader for Main Line Health, providing invaluable insights that shaped the future of patient care. Since 2020, he also served as a valued member of The Riddle HealthCare Foundation Board, where he chaired the Physician Giving Campaign and co-founded the Physician’s 1963 Society, strengthening our philanthropic community.

John’s impact extended beyond the clinic. He served as physician chair for the Riddle Pro-Am Golf Classic and co chaired the annual Gala — two events he held dear and contributed to with great enthusiasm.

Throughout his career, Dr. Munshower exemplified what it means to be a physician and leader. He was a trusted mentor to his younger colleagues and a model of dedication among his peers. Driven by a commitment to patient well-being, he championed medical education, advocating for the development of future healthcare professionals. He served as a preceptor for several local medical training programs and was chief preceptor for MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. His passion for guiding and educating the next generation of practitioners was unwavering.

Dr. Munshower is survived by his beloved wife, Shauna, and their four children: Amanda, John, Joseph and Paul. We will remember him as a compassionate physician, a devoted family man, and a leader who left an enduring legacy of care, dedication and service. Though he will be deeply missed, his spirit and contributions will continue to inspire us all.

The Dr. John C. Munshower Memorial Fund:

The fund will be made up of two components:

The Dr. John C. Munshower Endowment:

This permanently endowed fund will ensure that the life and legacy of Dr. Munshower will have a perpetual impact on Riddle Hospital. This endowment will provide a stable and lasting source of income for projects that were most important to John, including educational initiatives, scholarships, training and other highest-priority needs. John was an active member of the Riddle HealthCare Foundation Board of Directors, and this endowment will empower the Board to make a lasting impact in his name in perpetuity.

The Dr. John C. Munshower Board Designated Fund:

While the Dr. John C. Munshower Memorial Endowment will ensure perpetual impact, this namesake fund will be available for immediate use to maximize the launch of this campaign. This Board designated fund will offer the flexibility to meet current needs by immediately funding projects that John was most passionate about supporting. Together, these funds will keep Dr. Munshower’s spirit alive by honoring his approach to investing in the needs at Riddle that have the most significant impact on what he cared about most, the patients and community as a whole.
