This six hour course provides ALS responders with a foundation to better prepare for,
and manage a newborn or infant resuscitation.
Topics include:
- Identifying neonates and infants in distress
- Physiologic changes that occur at birth.
- Determining perfusion, respiratory, and neurological status
- Mindset and preparation about resuscitation after birth
- Congenital abnormalities affecting resuscitation
- Basics of neonatal and infant cardiology, and post resuscitation considerations.
This course uses preserved fetal pigs for skill performance.
