This six hour course provides ALS responders with a foundation to better prepare for,

and manage a newborn or infant resuscitation.

Topics include:
  • Identifying neonates and infants in distress
  • Physiologic changes that occur at birth.
  • Determining perfusion, respiratory, and neurological status
  • Mindset and preparation about resuscitation after birth
  • Congenital abnormalities affecting resuscitation
  • Basics of neonatal and infant cardiology, and post resuscitation considerations.
This course uses preserved fetal pigs for skill performance.
