Longtime friends and collaborators Brad Mehldau and Chris Thile come together for a virtuosic live performance of Mehldau's 2025 album Ride into the Sun. Called a "magnificent new record" in a four-star review by Record Collector, the acclaimed album is a songbook inspired by the late songwriter Elliott Smith. Composer and jazz pianist Mehldau, whom The New York Times named "the most influential jazz pianist of the last 20 years," and GRAMMY® Award-winning and MacArthur Fellow mandolinist Chris Thile will be joined by musicians from the USC strings program in a concert that is a "deeply satisfying tribute to a great lost talent" (Mojo).
