Director

Director's photo Dr. Judy Karin earned her AB in Physics from Mount Holyoke College, and her PhD in ultrafast optoelectronics at UC Santa Barbara. Judy was the High Holy Day Cantor at Santa Barbara Hillel for 28 years and served on the Board of SB Hillel for ten of those years. A member of Congregation B’nai B’rith and founding member of the Isla Vista Minyan, she’s been involved in Jewish education for adults, teens and children for nearly 30 years as a teacher, Hebrew and b’nei mitzvah tutor, education director, and workshop facilitator, and since 2016 she's been delighted to bring Melton learning to engage the Jewish adults in Santa Barbara.
