Sunnyside Recording Artist, Guggenheim Fellow and acclaimed New York City flutist/composer Jamie Baum is making her long-awaited appearance at Scullers with her Quintet, marking a triumphant return to Boston and topping a pinnacle of achievement over a 30-year career. She and her Quintet will give local audiences a preview of her forthcoming eighth album as a leader, as yet untitled, featuring a fast-growing talent on alto sax, Jaleel Shaw, a long-standing member of the Roy Haynes Quartet. Jamie will also be joined by one of the leaders of the young jazz piano scene according to JazzTimes, pianist Julian Shore. Drummer Jeff Hirschfield and bassist to be announced . . . also join the Quintet.
