This Christmas season, experience an unforgettable evening of jazz with Bay Area legend Tammy L. Hall as she celebrates one of the most distinctive voices in jazz history: Shirley Horn. With her unmistakably rich voice, elegant piano playing and extraordinary sense of timing, Shirley Horn had a rare ability to make every song feel intimate and deeply personal. She didn't simply sing a song---she lived inside it, finding emotion in the spaces between the notes. Her legendary recordings, including Here's to Life, have made her an enduring favorite among jazz lovers and musicians alike. Now, acclaimed San Francisco pianist and vocalist Tammy L. Hall brings Horn's music to life in the intimate setting of Feinstein's at the Nikko. Joined by Kevin Goldberg on bass and Jason Lewis on drums, Hall will explore the songs, sounds and spirit that made Shirley Horn such a singular artist. And this is exactly the kind of music that belongs in a room like Feinstein's. With only 125 seats, every seat puts you close to the performance. You'll hear the subtleties---the beautiful piano voicings, the warmth of the bass, the conversation between the drums and piano, and Hall's expressive interpretation of Horn's extraordinary repertoire. Whether you are already a Shirley Horn devotee or are discovering her music for the first time, Here's To Shirley! promises an evening of sophisticated, soulful jazz performed by musicians who understand that sometimes the most powerful moments happen when the music simply has room to breathe. Make it part of your holiday tradition. Gather your friends, bring someone special, enjoy a cocktail and settle in for a beautiful night of live jazz with one of San Francisco's own musical treasures. The Tammy L.
