Fifty years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy were slain by assassins, in events that played havoc with the 1968 Democratic National Convention and sent us spiraling out of control ever since. On this evening, local author and researcher Joseph E. Green will review the not-often-discussed radicalism of MLK, Bobby Kennedy's alliance with Cesar Chavez, and the threats each men posed to the state that guaranteed their execution. He will also discuss how these events connect to what is happening right now.
Joseph E. Green is affiliated with the Hidden History Center and the Center for Deep Political Research. Locally his plays Clowntime is Over and The Vapours have both been produced by the Overtime Theater and his film King Kill 63 debuted at the 2015 Dallas International Film Festival. In addition, he has been interviewed on Ground Zero with Clyde Lewis, Midnight Writer News, the Ochelli Effect, and many other outlets. More information can be found at joegreenjfk.com.
